Large sheets that go up quickly
The key component of the Enviro IT Wall System is the autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) panels, which are stack-bonded and fixed to the framing using screws and L brackets. Fire-rated mineral wall insulation and a Soudal fire-rated sealant complete the assembly.
‘J Moore Construction had used AAC panel fire walls in the past, and we provided some training on-site just to show them the differences between our system and the others,’ says Masons Key Account Manager Riki Tukaki. ‘They were able to pick it up really quickly.’
The 50mm thick Enviro panels weigh only 33kg per sheet, and at 2200mm x 600mm they each cover 1.3 sqm for rapid assembly. Walls are constructed in manageable blocks with no need for a crane, and installation time for two men can be as little as two hours.
Total support for builders
Alongside speed of installation, for J Moore Construction, price was a big advantage of the Enviro IT Wall System, as was the support from Masons.
‘Cost was important, and Enviro IT was a good deal,’ says Adam. ‘Plus, because the initial plans had specified another product, Masons were helpful in getting the variation through with the council. It’s just a formality, really, but they took care of it and that saved a lot of paperwork.’
Installed to specification, the Enviro IT Wall System complies with all NZBC standards. If required, Masons can also provide the installation.
‘Besides supply and training, we have contractors who can put the system in, if builders need that,’ says Riki. ‘Sometimes, if project times are tight, it’s easier for them to have Masons take care of the whole system.’
For Adam at J Moore Construction, that’s something that can be relied on. ‘Masons do what they say they’re going to do, on time, every time.’
