At Masons, sustainability is more than just a buzzword—it’s a commitment. That’s why we’ve partnered with a local recycling company to turn plastic waste into something truly valuable.
Giving Plastic a Second Life: The Masons Dry Fix DPC Story
Every year, New Zealand sends 252,000 tons of plastic to landfill, taking up 20% of our landfill space. To combat this, we’re collecting and recycling post-consumer low-density polyethylene (LDPE), including pallet wrap, shrink wrap, and select soft plastics. These materials are thoroughly washed and processed into high-quality plastic resin or beads, which are then used to create Masons Dry Fix DPC—a durable damp-proof course made from 100% recycled plastic.
"As a building industry supplier, we recognize our responsibility to help reduce waste and find sustainable solutions.” says Masons Marketing Manager, Sue Attwood. “Partnering with a local recycling company allows us to turn plastic waste into a valuable product, helping to create a greener future for New Zealand."
Together, we can make a difference. By choosing Masons Dry Fix DPC, you’re not just getting a top-quality building product—you’re actively supporting a circular economy and helping to keep plastic waste out of landfills.
Let’s build a greener future, one recycled product at a time!
